Nolan Hoffman from Team Alfa Body Works clinched the 9th Stellenbosch Cycle Tour title this morning in idyllic cycling racing conditions for the front runners, finishing the slightly longer 101km route in 02:20:10 and edging out second place Evan Carstens (Team Giant Durbanville) by half a tyre width.

This isn't a trolling question, but I was wondering how seriously are races such as CTCT, Momentum 947, Die Burger, etc., etc, taken by the pro riders in SA. 

 

Is it mostly raced by the pro riders who haven't/can't break into the international pro scene? Are there pros in SA that make their livelihood from the handful of road races in SA?

 

Again, I'm not particularly informed on road racing, so this is a legit question.
