Haha I'm beginning to get the feeling that I'm gonna need to get a second job to fund this new addiction..... [emoji23]

That brings a whole new set of problems...like how will you have time to ride if you have to work two jobs? ;)

It's going to become a question of,

"That holiday, or that new bike?"  OR

"Perfect present for significant other, but I NEED those carbon wheels!"

As well as,

"Haven't seen my best buddy for months but HE JUST WON'T GET A BIKE!"

And eventually all you will see, sleep and breathe will be the next ride...

It's a wonderful life!

Hmmm good point. Then I see no other option - I'll have to resort to a life of crime. Anyone have any experience in robbing banks??

As for the comment about the buddies, that is so true, I go ages without seeing friends who don't have bikes.

Just make damn sure you don't get caught, there's no riding in prison - well, not the bicycle kind...haha :P

If that horse in your profile picture is yours, you can start by selling it ;)

Ok so to sum up, I need to make new friends, evaluate the importance of a significant other, always carry lube when robbing banks (just in case I need to make a quick getaway on the bike, or I land in prison...) and ditch the horse?

Fortunately (although very upsetting at the same time) the horse problem is solved. I moved from JHB to PE in April last year and she had to stay behind :(

But at least that's one tick off the "how to successfully support the bike addiction" list [emoji2]

You don't need friends if you have a bike. :P

You don't need a significant other if they don't have a bike because you will never see them again anyway. :P

Rather be the mastermind in the bank job and let people who can't be connected to you face the jail time if it goes wrong. ;)

The saddest part about the horse being in JHB is the fact you have to live in PE, I've been there once, and it was twice too many times. haha

I just knew I'd get great advice when I joined the hub! [emoji23]

As for living in PE, I actually love it! So happy here and the outdoor and fitness lifestyle is amazing here!! You just have to get used to always having bad hair and nobody ever wearing shoes [emoji12]

I was always under the impression that PE is where you go when you have given up on life. haha

Seriously though, my only experience with the place is I went to our office there once.Flew in on the first flight of the morning and left again that evening so was in the office the whole day, and my flight was delayed back to civilization so I sat waiting in the airport, which is not the most exciting place in the world. So besides our office, my whole PE experience is based on their tiny airport.

Haha yes, the airport is awful!! I'm sure there are third world ramshackle airbases that are bigger and better than it [emoji23][emoji23]

Yeah that's not how to experience this place - you need a week here to see all the awesome things and experience the fun stuff. You have an unlimited playground of running and biking trails, 7 National Game Parks within a 2 hour radius (Addo elephant park is a 30 minute drive out of PE) and SUCH incredible people here!

It sounds like you work for the Department of Tourism, haha
