Fewer events??

Is it just me, or are there fewer Gauteng events available this year? cycleevents.co.za normally overflowed with events, especially mtb, but this year... Normally I could almost fit in one race per month, but this is not the case anymore. There are a few multistage events, but not so many one-dayers.

 

Are there fewer events organised, or is everybody just advertising their own thing?

Organizing an event takes a lot of Time and Money, and with so many events to choose from last year you would probably find that the organizers did not reach there Break even points, and therefore lost money.

 

So now only events managers with good sponsors can put on an event and still make money.
