dexterdent Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Sorry for the thread necro, but I went to Simonsberg trails on the weekend and just had to post somewhere about how awesome this network is. Ended up doing like ~850m of climbing in 30 kms and didn't feel like moaning about uphills once. We spent the day with a bit more of an explorer vibe and frequent stops for pics, which was exactly what was needed on the day. There was a little bit of downhill at the back end of the neverending loop which was a tad tricky in the wet (and I may have ended up halfway down a "cliff" hanging on to a tree) but in general the trails were perfect for my skill level and so much fun. Thanks to the team who made this bit of heaven!

dexterdent Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 We drove through to Delheim, and got permits from the restaurant. I believe you can get permits from Dirtopia at Delvera as well (although then a slight different route in and out), and just opposite Muratie there was another Dirtopia sign that we skipped. They provide you with a map, and coupled with pretty good signage you'll clearly see where you need to go. My favourite bit was the Ho Chi Mihn downhill, which is a bit like an easier Bloemslang with less jumping. Permits were R60 pp.
