Is anyone using this wheelset. Any thoughts or comments about it? I'm passing my Ksyrium's onto my wife and considering getting the R-Sys.

The good:

1.They are light

2. The carbon spokes could have a softer ride perhaps, I have not ridden them.

3.They look nice, too.

The bad:

1. Poor aerodynamics. They had the most drag out of 59 of high end wheels tested in a wind tunnel by rouesartisanales.com: http://www.rouesartisanales.com/article-15505311.html they also give a good explanation why - due to the shape and diameter of the spokes.

2. Price. For R9k, you can almost buy 2 sets of 2nd hand Mavic Cosmics or 2 sets of Zipp 404 clinchers, which have sold for R4500 to R5000 on the Hub in the past.

3. Im not sure how easy it would be to get replacement spokes if you need to.

In a bad crash, if some of those carbon spokes gets broken, they will be very dangerous - like a sharpened metal spoke, could skewer you / somebody else.

Conclusion: Depends on what you want to do. For training, they should be nice & comfortable. Perhaps not the fastest wheels for racing - Cosmics / something else would be better.
