Entry Level Mountain Bike

Hi All ,

 

 

   Hope you can maybe help me here with a choice on some entry level mountain bikes.

   I have been looking at two models specific and would like to get your opionion on them.

 

   I have looked at the Merida Big 7 20D and the Silverback Slade 4 2015 Dark Platinum/Watermelon Red model.

 

    The Merida I can get for R5000.00 (new) and the Silverback R5500.00 (new)

 

    I do not have much knowledge on the various parts thus asking the question.

    The last time I owned a bike was more than 20 years ago so yeah all of this is pretty new to me....

 

  Ay help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the replies people ..... appreciated , I think I'll go for the Silverback.

My wife and I mainly decided to get bikes just to enjoy some weekends out with our two boys,

Then we'll probably later on be bitten by the more serious MTB bug ;-)

Enjoy, I have 2 Silverbacks and very happy. Good value as well as warranty back up.
