Awesome event, they coped well without MTN, was curious to see how it was going to plan out

We had terrible luck on day 1, punctured in the first 4km, then chased super hard, only to get a another puncture at 65 km which caused 3 spokes to go as well, well was buckled so bad it couldn't turn, we decided to send my mate to finish and bring me a wheel, while I started walking, 9 km later I found a guy who's derailleur broke, so he borrowed me a wheel. Day 1 and we lost 1h40

Was negative, but then we heard day 2 is mass start and we started smiling

Day 2 we quickly chased to get to the front guys, stuck there till the halfway point where my partners legs was a bit tired from the previous day's effort, finally we managed to form a small group with the team Arch-Centric guys and ended up in 6th place under the sub vets

Day 3 we Started in the A group and the legs felt wonderful, up spitzkop we were in such a horrible position I tried to bridge from the chasing group to the lead group but legs ran out halfway, stuck with the chasing group until brondal where my chain twisted, sigh lost 6 min on the guys and ended 7th sub vets team

Last day was just burn burn burn and another 7th sub vets place, it was pretty awesome as you finish to hear you have set the new fastest time, lasted for a few min till team Tim Tandem went 15 sec faster.

After day one we were 33/34 sub vets teams

day 2 it was down to 24

day 4 16th

and we ended on 14th

Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if not for day one. Will have to see next year I guess.

After having done Clover, Pana and TOGH, this one stays my favorite.

Sadly I won't return.

I nearly broke my neck coming down in the rain in those potholes.

The road is just crazy dangerous and it spoiled the whole experience for me.

The race itself was fun and well organised and a HUGE MASSIVE SPECIAL mention must go to the Bike marshals.  Wow!  What a sterling job.  They can be very proud and we as cyclist would have been in so much trouble of various occasions if it was not for them controlling traffic and putting their lives in danger for us.  BAIE DANKIE!!

Sad to hear. I am guessing you were the guy behind me when my chain tangled up?

I do really hope they sort that road

The road rangers were special, even fetching water bottles that fell.
