Old Giant ATX DH rebuild - chain guide advice

I recently got my hands on a 1999 Giant ATX DH that I am in the process of rebuilding. This is a first build for me so not always too clued up on what is compatible with what etc, and wouldn't mind any input whatsoever.

The old frame mounted chain guide and tensioner seemed really awful so decided to see if I can replace it with a more modern system.

My idea is to grind off the old chain guide mounts flush with the frame and fit the E-Thirteen chain guide via an ISCG adapter plate to the BB, topped of with Raceface Diabolus cranks and a Hope bash ring. I temporarily fitted the above and all seems to fit and work together. Any opinions on the removal of the old mounts, suggestions etc would be appreciated. I will be sending the frame in to be anodised soon, but which colour do you guys think? I previously sandblasted the frame and sprayed it silver but wasn't happy with the colour or quality of the paint so decided to redo it.

Below are the mounts to me removed and the old chain guide system.

My old bike. :)

Remember waiting and waiting for the Argus expo to finish so that I could take it from the stand (was part of the deal) and get in a few rides before the Nationals at Citrusdal the following weekend. :)
