Hi Hubbers,

Im looking at purchasing a GT GT Zaskar Carbon Expert For R14000

Bike has minimal use (still has flat pedals) no noises and apart from a bike rack mark or 2, in great looking condition.

Problem is its a 2012 model, would need some part upgrades to lighten it a bit

Is it still worth R14k?

assuming minimal use meaning the drive-train is the original drive-train and is 80% or above still good, no cracks and it's a medium, if you don't take it I will

I have this bike, ridden four sani2c's on it. I have been very happy with it.

A few pointers about the bike.

1. it is light enough.

2. The rear hub is rubbish. The original manufacturer is Salsa cycling in Thailand, the hub is a Salsa Maklik, who made this GT branded hub.

3.  If you convert to 1x10 you need a new clutch derailleur, although I have done the conversion and I use the original.

4. bike is very stiff, like riding a road bike off road.

5. I put dropper seat post on mine and I still love the bike.

Check this link out, someone asked this question before.

Thanks Martin,

Did you have to do a tubeless conversion or is it already tubeless?

You would need to convert it, if the owner has not done it, the rims are tubeless compatible.
