  1. I paid a lot less. About R250 for 20. The Silverback Sido all the bushings are the same size. I remember I had to take out some washers because the top hat rim thickness was 1.2 mm instead of 1 mm.
  2. Sort of related, my Silverback Sido 1 bushings were worn, couldn't find any kits, so I measured the plastic bushings and replaced them with Aliexpress self lubricating brass bushings about a year ago, so far they have worked very well.
  3. I checked the pipe I have, it is 3 mm OD and 2 mm ID.
  4. I think builders sells it. It is very thin.
  5. I use thin PVC tube when I remember to thread the old cable. Works very well and cheap.
  6. My son had a BB92, whatever we did it creaked, eventually fitted a BB which tightened in the middle. There are these designs which join at a thread in the middle. Token make them and others.
  7. I have had creak coming from cracked rear axle, it was snapped through. Also a loose chain master link, changed the BB three times before realising it's not the BB.
  8. If the bike is steel or Aluminum then powder coating is a good option. I have had a few frames powder coated, comes out perfect.
  9. I have bought a few pairs of myopia sports sunglasses from Aliexpress. They are Ok for cycling.
  10. Yes. Companion app not working.
  11. Besides the ebike I agree with the triple suggestion. I know shifter is an issue, Micronew on Temu or Aliexpress are very good, I have a few sets. You also need a derailleur at the back with a long cage. I built a 3x8 road set up once, 26 smallest on front and 30 at the back, it was very nice for climbing.
  12. Yes. I have ordered few things. Went to the shop and picked them up.
  13. Borrow some cheap wheels for the trip. I have noticed with my tandem it is always the same side, same orientation that breaks. Broken about 6 out of 9 spokes on the one side like this. Wheel has 36 spokes.
  14. The adverts for the hoods say they are the same for all the 10 speeds.
  15. Send me a Pic. I'll compare to mine.
  16. I reckon Lezyne Flow are great, They are not light, saw some pros use them in Paris Roubaix once, so that sold me. When I want to spoil my bike, I get two of these.
  17. Massive fan is a must. I bought a R300 big fan from one of the China malls, works great in Durban heat. I also had problems with the PC setup, Zwift needs decent CPU to run and obviously good internet connection. A decent cell phone can run Zwift, but I had problems with the cellphone bluetooth to the big screen, seems to develop interference and not work properly, I think this was also CPU related (laptop was cheap). Now I use a big beast computer, no issues. The bigger the screen, the better.
  18. Kickr core or tacx flux s. Something this price range. I agree second hand is risky.
  19. Wasn't impressed with the courier company. Threw the Temu package over the fence, then left. Saw it a bit later on the lawn.
  20. I take 2 weeks off twice a year. Have been cycling for a long time. First started in 1985. To keep going in this sport you need to try new things, new ways of training, racing. Anything different. If you haven't tried something and somebody suggests it, then try it.
  21. Yep, that was my line of thinking. Reason I asked was that I was in a similar situation once and I could push in the carbon with my fingers. Hence the seller took back the frame as this should definitely not be possible.
  22. If you push in with your fingers can you notice any movement inwards?
  23. I had some, which I used for years, they were fine. Not the same brand. A mate had another Aliexpress one which had a massive flex in it, the bar broke while he was riding. I would prefer to check out the bar first, see how strong it is, what is the weight. Must not be too light, obviously.
  24. I guess formula make mineral oil and brake fluid brakes.
  25. I see Rapide website sells hose for the Formula and Avid brands, so they are compatible.
