Servicing rockshock pike

Is R300 labour the average for putting in 2 tokens on a RockShox Pike? Was told by LBS that warranty on fork & shock would be void if I do it myself.

If you are of average weight the standard number of tokens should be about right. Add if you are heavier or you ride hard. Adding or removing 2 tokens makes a very noticeable difference. In the Pike you can also mix the grey and red (smaller) tokens. My 150mm Pike was bought used and had 3 tokens in. I was running very low pressures and still only using 75% of the travel. Took 2 tokens out (leaving 1, as per factory setting) and it was a bit linear so I have ended up with 2.

Paying for any spare tokens that aren't supplied with the fork is fair enough but it is a user serviceable item and takes no more than 10 minutes working carefully so R300 is excessive and the advice that your warranty would be voided if you DIY it is a lie. I would actually ask for my money back. I wonder if they also charge for adjusting tyre pressure or seat height.
