Hi all, I wanted to find out if there are any decent MTB trails around the Wyndford Farm located in the Caledonspoort area? I will be there for a few days over next weekend and I am keen to take the bike with!!

Any knowledge would be appreciated!

Yes. Along the river is tame and very scenic.

Across the road is camel roc. From medium skill to hectic

Some of camel roc tracks are visible from Wyndfird.

With Wyndfords good food you'll need lots of riding to work it off.

Enjoy Wyndfird. We do

Clockwise ride. From the resort, along the river and you work your way to the castle. Riding up to castle is a hard word but worth the view. Then back down and you can join up to the rolling dirt road which takes you up to the tar road you come down (4-way stop) to the resort.

Definitely some good riding. Be warned that there is no cell coverage at the resort (Vodacom) so any route planning needs to be done before and devices like GPS sync'ed before. Then if you out by yourself you will have to call the reception for help and that's only once you've passed the castle and climbing up towards the tar road. I've done some 3 hour rides and not seen a single person (except for the odd Shepard on across the river on the Lesotho side).

I have gpx files is you like. Drop me a PM if interested.

Hi, The weekend spent at Wynford was awesome! Such a great place with plenty to keep you busy! The food was also incredible!

While we were there we did 2 rides at Camelroc both blue and green routes. The routes are short in distance but very intense in climbing & technical ability. The green route is the shorter & easier of the 2. The blue is a tough climb to get on top of the mountain I think roughly 500m ascent over 6KM... Where on top you will do a loop mostly following a contour track, then a great decent down to camel roc, where you can link onto the green trail to extend the downhill sections and distance. We cut the loop on top short due to lack of direction and local knowledge about the distance of route we were actually on. I can try send you GPX files or I can provide a link to my Strava account.

Enjoy the time there!!
