Ok, summer is coming and its time to start commuting.

Can i get a SUMMARY of best Backpack, lights and lock to use?

BAG : I dont need to carry a laptop. Just clothes and repair stuff and wet towel home.

LIGHTS: Front and rear. Only to flash and be seen. Would prefer USB charge

LOCK : will have to lock the bike outside to some pallisade.

Thanks

Bag: Osprey Momentum/ Syncro series

I've got the Momentum 30 and its ideal for carrying work stuff + lunch + change of clothes. This also includes a laptop - but if you don't need that they offer smaller sizes in the Syncro range.

Osprey has a really nice Airspeed / Airscape ventilation systems that work well.

Also use the bag as carry on for air travel and have crammed enough for a weekend trip in it too.

Lights: spend a bit more and get something from Exposure. Really good build quality and will outlast the cheap Chinese ebay deals  eg: http://www.exposurelights.com/images/ULS000049/detail-03.jpg

+1 to Osprey, very good bags

Rear lights - Nite Rider Solas or Cygolite Hotshot.

Locks - if you are locking your bike outside don't skimp! D-Locks are good. If you can get a Vulcan Supreme they are really good (need to cut both shackles and small so hard to lever open). Cable locks are hopeless

If you can you could consider leaving a heavy chain where you lock the bike.
