Can I get away with resin brake pads...?

Bike stands upright on it's wheels and gets moved back and forth from the lounge to my hobby room a few times a week....i.e. whenever the maid comes!

Ok I was technically/politically incorrect but I am sure you get what I was saying :)

Thank you very much for the offer but I will give it a miss. I need to go up in disk size and I would need to get a 6 bolt hub as well ;)

By proper resin what are you referring to? Please let me know the make and part number.

The pads appear to be mounted flush and I can see even wear/scuff marks on the disk.

You don't need to, this is what this adapter is for.

Centre Lock Disc Adapter.

Ok,so after conversing with my local mechy we came up with a solution that did not cost an arm and five fingers....

Initially I was going to change the rear to a 180mm RT54CL rotor but after a little mix up at his supplier I ended up with the older RT30CL. It is a similar design to the original RT20CL but with slightly different hole spacing and outer cuts right around the perimeter. This worked out a lot cheaper and I quite liked the meatiness of the 30 over the 54. Sure there is probably a bit of a weight difference but with my weight I need it to be strong!

The rear caliper was obviously spaced out to accommodate the bigger disk using some Sram spacers he had lying around. He checked for bubbles in the system which only took out 3 or 4 tiny ones in the rear with the front being fine.

So all in all it set me back 300 bucks and while I don't feel a day and night difference, it definitely has a little more bite and I feel more confident that it will stop when I want it to now :)

Thank you for all the help, advice and guidance. I don't always listen to advice but do take it to heart in order to draw my own conclusion  ;)  :P  :D

I have learn't a lot from this upgrade and now know what to look out for when either upgrading further or when the time comes to purchase a new bike (many years from now  )
