The enchantedness of Champagne Valley draws visitors away from city stressors to escape to a place of rare beauty that manages to remain almost entirely unaffected by development. Situated only two hours from Durban and four hours from Johannesburg, this is a prime area to tackle some of the best mountain biking trails in South Africa.

 

Found in the Central Drakensberg, Champagne Valley boasts rolling hills, challenging climbs and breath taking backdrops with magnificent mountain views. With cattle paths and hiking trails, along with purposely built mountain biking tracks that includes jeep tracks and downhills with single track, the routes also feature sharp cut backs, berms, wooden bridges and wooden curbs. Champagne Valley’s trails will not only test a riders’ skills, but also make the ride interesting, challenging and scenic. These routes will be closed off to the public on race days.

 

You can look forward to a great weekend away with plenty to do and see. Routes with hand built single track, cattle paths, well stocked water points, uncongested routes with little overlap, an expo area, local food stalls & craft beer, massages, bike wash and VIP Area.
