Maybe you guys can assist me

 

I will spend a few days around Buffeljagsrivier over Christmas.

 

What route will be best for me to train that is not to dangerous?

 

It will not be in town its self. Will stay on a farm just of the N2 near the Rolandale Restaurant

Miles and miles of gravel district roads south of the N2 that is safe. Make a trip to the pont @ Malgas with the mtb.

 

Edit - saw title of your thread. Not too sure about road bike. N2 obviously not safe and the tar roads in the area generally dont have shoulders and are full of holiday makers & other traffic this time of year. Peferably stick ti gravel roads on the mtb

I haven't been there recently but as far as I remember the road between Buffeljags (from the BP petrol station) to Malgas is fairly flat (a local can correct me if I'm wrong). It's about 35km and you have a few options for other routes (play around on strava & google maps)

 

The one piece of advice I can give is to check the wind... You want it at your back for the return trip... (But as a Capetonian you would already know that...)
