Rides near Mafikeng

Hi all

 

I will be in Mafikeng this week for 2 days [it's my first visit] and am keen to take my bike along for a ride.

 

I arrive on Thurs afternoon and can only go for a ride on Friday morning. 

 

Any suggestions? Not sure if it's worth my while taking my bike all that way but am always keen to try new routes. I will most likely be staying at the Protea Hotel for those who know the area well.

Road or mtb? The area is relatively flat, can ride on the district roads, would personally stay away from the road.
