Rudiculous Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Dear fellow cyclists, My Garmin Edge 820 was picked-up / stolen at Northern Farms on the 21st of Jan 2017 just after 10h00 in the morning. If anybody knows or hears about somebody that picked one up / trying to sell one, please let me know. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Regards
Malpiet Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 I think you may need to rephrase your ad a little more, it sounds like you not sure if you lost it or it got stolen. Surely if you lost it, then it couldn't have been stolen.
Rudiculous Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 Thanks for pointing that out! I believe it fell to the ground as I got into my vehicle after the ride and I drove off. I realized it a couple of minutes later and turned back. It was not where my car was parked. Started asking around and the security guard actually saw a car stop, pick it up and drove off. Security even gave a description of garmin, the person who picked it up and the type of car he was driving but he did not stop the guy or took vehicle reg. because he thought it was the property of the guy who picked it up. So, if someone picks up something like that that does not belong to him and drives away immediately without handing it in to security, would you agree that it was stolen?

To late for you but for all others you can edit your startup screen to display your name and details at start up . In short you edit the startup.txt file found in the root of the Garmin folder using a text editor.
