AT R 18k no matter what you buy you will never be able to get more than R 10k for it in a years time. 29er or Plus. See the other thread about finance - don't ever worry about returns on investments on toys, there is none.

Having said that if you are in the sticks then going to something that is more standard and has wider adoption in terms of wheel sizes will allow you to get more tire and wheel choice at a later stage.

And to contradict myself anything 27,5 Plus size will also take a 29er wheel if need be.

Think about the fact that Plus sizes are also quite high in rolling resistance so if it's your first or only bike and you are not too experienced you may find it tests your fitness much more than a conventional 29er.

Never a straight answer on the hub mate. Look in the classifieds. You may get a nice older Dual sus 29er - there were some Specialized Epic Comps there with dual suspension at good prices.

Just some corrections.

Not all plus frames can accept 29er wheels. Most plus bike forks are actually 'Boost' 29er forks, so most plus bikes could run a 29er wheel up front. However, not all plus frames' rear triangles can accept 29er wheels. Case in point: YT Jeffsy.

Secondly, there has been some experimenting done, which suggests that in a fair number of situations plus tyres roll faster than traditional 29er wheels. Have a read about it here: http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/article/are-275-wheels-and-tyres-better-than-29ers-47047/

Plus bikes are going to be around for a while, but the size everyone is settling on is 2.8" and not 3.0".

As jou wêreld vol dorings is, is Tubeless 'n moet.
