Hi SwissVan. My spray painter checked the frame and confirmed no visible pitting of any sort. The only issue was as HeyYou mentioned above; a bit of surface oxidation. The next process with the frame is the paint stripping - if there is any cause for concern we should be able to see this once all the paint has been stripped. But for right now all seems to be in order.

Hopefully I'm being over pessimistic... good luck and even in the worst case scenario you will have a frame that would look good hanging in your bar

Would dye penetrant damage Mg if used on it?
