gummibear Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Had a look and a little ride on this electronic group set that never took off and can see why.Shifting wasn't smooth or precise and gears kept slipping.Still remarkable to think how long Shimano took to catch up[emoji3][emoji6]
BeegMig Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 I remember seeing it on Chris Boardman's bike must have been '97 or '98.Don't know if the whole team used it, but back then it was the coolest thing ever.Paul Sherwin raved about it, Gary Imlach had a bikecheck in one of his insets, I must have watched it a thousand times on VHSI also had a poster of Jens riding with a set for CreditAgricole after they changed from GAN. Just think, if MAVIC kept developing it since then what their groupsets could have been like by now

Just think, if MAVIC kept developing it since then what their groupsets could have been like by nowMust add that those hoods are very comfortable but probably banned by UCI Boardman used it in 1996 at the Olympics but he had issues and ended up in 3rd place. He also never liked the idea of only shifting on sprocket at a time.

Bman had a lot of problems with it though; I think it even left him in one gear in which he then had to finish his tt in...(correct me if I'm wrong)
