ckdp Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Hi all. I would like to replace me and my wife's cheap mtb's. My question, would you go for an older 26" dual suspension or 29er hardtail? The local track has flat bush type terrain with deep sand in places and a very rocky hill (bull) that puts quite a pounding on arms, legs and bike. Price range would be around R5-7k each.Looking forward to your input!
peds Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 You would get a higher specced 26" but I would still recommend a 29er. Look at the classifieds rather than buying new, you will get a better bike in that price range.
ckdp Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 Thanks peds for your reply. Yes I am mostly considering 2nd hand, though one of the local stores will let you finance a bike that makes it a lot easier to buy (that is how I bought my son's rockhopper).May I ask why you would still go 29er?
