Going tubeless on a road bike.

Do you also struggle to remove the Gators on the tubeless rim as I have helped a friend twice now with a puncture on AC's fitted with 25c Gators. We struggled to pull bead back to fit a tyre lever in.

OMG! Gatorskins (wire bead) and AC Argents are a bad combination.

I got blisters on my thumbs fighting to get the last bit of bead over the rim, and then really battled to get the tyre to seat evenly - I had to resort to applying soapy water and letting the air out and pumping repeatedly.

Then I had the bright idea to put my GP 4000's on for the One Tonner because race.

Getting the Gatorskins off also results in more blisters as the bead was stuck in the rim hook. What a PITA!

The 25mm GP 4000 II's go on and come off much easier, so they will just stay on and when its time for new tyres I will try the Giant Gavia tubeless tyres. They are about R470 vs the R1000 Schwalbes and Hutchinsons.
