Out of curiosity, are/have you all done this on fat bikes?

Normal 26er with the widest tyres possible.

A group of mates and I rode from the Wild Coast Sun to Mtentu, it's about 27km along the beach with a short section inland.

We rode into a gale force head wind and it took us around 7hours to reach Mtentu.

Our bikes took strain as the wind was picking up the beach sand and packing it onto any wet or greased part of the bike.

There were a few river crossings, but nothing unmanageable at the time.

Take enough water and food, there is nothing along the way.

The following day we rode up to the shipwreck, we had to carry our bikes most of the way as the rocks and sand weren't rideable.

I would do it again on a rental,my Pyga won't see the beach again.
