The PwC Great Zuurberg Trek is a boutique mountain bike stage race that explores the heart of the world-renowned Addo region of the Eastern Cape.

Experience three days of boutique-style mountain biking from 26 to 28 May, 2017. Enjoy four-star luxury accommodation, fine dining and world-class riding, while making a difference to the surrounding rural communities.

All three stages start and finish at the luxurious Zuurberg Mountain Village at the top of the historic Zuurberg Pass, which offers breathtaking views of the Addo Elephant National Park and surrounds.

Stage one - Sundays River Valley (south)

Drop down into the picturesque Sundays River Valley, crisscrossing

citrus orchards and the Addo Elephant National Park.

Distance: 66km

Total ascent: 1 400m

 

Stage two - Zuurberg Mountains and Karoo (north)

Trace the historical Voortrekker wagon route over the remote Zuurberg Mountains,

taking in awe-inspiring panoramas of the vast Karoo on one side

and the distant Indian Ocean on the other.

Distance: 78km

Total ascent: 1 750m

 

Stage three - Hayterdale Trails (east and west)

Hug the southern slopes of the Zuurberg Mountains as you traverse some

of the best purpose-built single track in the country at Hayterdale Trails.

Distance: 50km

Total ascent: 1 400m
