Join us for an exciting Encounter EG trail run and MTB race hosted at the Cedarville Protected Environment just outside Cedarville. Parts of the trail will overlook the stunning Southern Drakensberg and the Cedarville Flats which serve as one of the largest feeding grounds for Wattled and Grey Crowned Cranes while the surrounding mountainous grassland and wetland sections provide prefect foraging and breeding grounds for South Africa’s iconic blue cranes and Grey Crowned Cranes. The area is home to nearly half of SA’s population of Wattle Crane, with less than 300 birds left in South Africa. The trails will consist of single and farm track through the area with good challenges for the more intermediate runners and cyclists.

All races will start and end at the Cedarberg Guest Farm. Kick back afterwards with a hot shower, coffee, bacon and egg rolls, braai packs and Craft beer and join us for the evening of sundowners with the cranes. Sundowners with the Cranes will start that afternoon at 4. There is a fully equipped children’s area and child minders available! Accommodation is also available at the race venue for those traveling afar.
