Jacomunkelt Posted November 11, 2017 Share Hi I am fairly new to road cycling. Whats is the safest route in the west for about a 100km cycle.
GRG Posted November 11, 2017 Share None of the roads are really safe, specially when road cycling alone. I suggest joining a bunch ride in your area, they are most likely to go out that way or another. This is the best way to find routes and safety in numbers is a better option. Plus, if you get a mechanical out on your ride, a backup car can help

CogitoErgoSum Posted November 12, 2017 Share Very few roads in the west has a shoulder. You can always head out on the N4 to Pelindaba. Then cross over Saartjies nek to Harties. Right at the Total in Harties and head back via Van der Hoff. Or head out with Van der Hoff, cross over Hornsnek, left onto R513 towards de Wildt, left onto Zilkaatsnek and them back again via Van der Hoff. Either way, get someone to ride with.
