Hi there,thinking of trading the hardtail and going dual. Currently on Silverback storm 1 for past 5 years,really enjoying the ride but think it is time for some comfort. Riding areas are fairly flat and not very technical, was thinking Scott scale 950/940 but not sure I need the extra travel that much. Budgets are always tight and the SB is always good value. Any thoughts and recommendations? I know this is an alloy,but should still come in by about 12kg from what I have gathered. Not a podium racer,but want some comfort as well as speed.

Not sure if this comment actually contributes anything - but from what I have seen on Bike Addict site I think it may just be the best value for money bike at the moment. I think it has an extremely good spec - nothing I look at and think "they could have done better". If I was in the market for an XC bike I would strongly be considering this bike.

 

SB are also well built and have excellent after sales service. I don't think you are going to go wrong with the SB.

 

EDIT: 12kg is a respectable weight for a carbon bike. And alu bike at that weight is very impressive.
