We will be doing general offroad cycling and some XC and trails as we (I) get fitter and established in the sport. Fathom 29er 1 for myself and the 2 for my son.

Like this: http://cyclelab.com/silverback-sido-3-2017-mtb/ its Full Sus and might allow you to tackle more different terrains.Obviously, this depends on where you ride. dasilvarsa Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 You could also look at Merida Big 9 300, Big 9 500, Big 9 600 (hardtails)Similar bikes for a much lower price.I would stay away from a 9 speed.
