Hi Guys

Looking for some advice on sunglasses for MTB.

I've been riding for 18 months or so and have ridden a number of muddy events, been hit in the face by sugarcane leaves and this week on Sani2C was constantly peppered in the face by stones etc.

I haven't worn glasses up to now because I sweat a lot and in my running and paddling experience, end up with so much crap on the lenses I take the glasses off after not too long. On a dusty MTB event this will be even worse with sweat + dust...

I'm going to lose an eye unless I find something that works.

What's the best - bigger lenses a la 100% or possibly those Adidas ones with the sweat band built on above the lens?

I've always had Oakley M frames and Radars etc.

Or is is just a matter of learn to operate like a bat one the lenses are dirty and clean them at each water table?

I'm also seriously sweaty and struggled for a long time to find a combo that works. I found it's the helmet that makes a bigger difference than the glasses. Helmets with a thicker pad seem to capture the sweat which then get to capacity and drips non stop onto the inside of my glasses.

Helmet with little padding in the inside doesn't hold the sweat and my glasses end up alot less dripped on.

I ride with Oakley Jawbreakers and a Specialized Ambush helmet which is the best combo so far.

Seems to be valid - I have a POC Octal and it has a thick headband which runs like crazy if I push on the front of the helmet.

Yup, was always my issue. Especially when I hung my head on climbs, all that sweat just runs straight onto the inside of the lens, and then dust sticks to it and it's just a mess. The right helmet sorted me out.
