The Ouzo Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 I think folks are confusing the strap on with the hang on types. I've now used all 3, ride on obviously the best, but does cost more.Hang on. I've used from home made ones through to Thule. I'v never had a problem with long haul traveling with them even with 4 bikes. It does become a bit of a tetris game fitting all 4 on though.(only issue I ever had was with my home made one, it bent the first time I put 4 bikes on it). even the strap on ones are fine for long trips if its max 2 bikes and you take your time to strap it properly. We added in a few extra straps though for additional piece of mind. Did JHB-CPT-JHB with one.They are certainly my last choice though.
