Frame Replacement : Venge Vias vs Scott Foil

Hi guys,

 

My friend needs to replace his cracked frame and is considering 2 options, both brand new:

 

A brand new ( old stock) 2016 Venge Vias frame (with integrated stem, handlebar, brakes, seat post) with Specialized warranty; or

 

Scott Foil 30 complete bike. (We struggle to find a Frame only option).

 

Ultegra R8000 and Token deep sections will be added to the frames.

 

Pricing will be very close (after selling the non needed stuff from the Scott.)

 

PS: he is a very strong sprinter coming off a Supersix Evo

I have seen frames for sale at Crown cycles in Cape Town.

I've seen plenty Scotts on the road, but never a Vias (at least not here in PE).

 

For that reason, I'd take the Vias. Its more exclusive, but also more expensive.

You can, but generally at a premium.

 

And sometimes you'll find a stripped frame among the bikes at some dealers.

Crown in Cape Town and Cajees and Solomons in Jhb come to mind.
