Garmin 510 screen not responding

Like all things, devices are machines

And machines fail

 

Garmin after-sales support have been fantastic over many seasons

That matters

 

9 out of 10 of my training partners uses the brand

And the street cred is strong

 

Problem is some machines fail more than others

 

Garmin 500 was bulletproof - I only had to replace mine because one of the buttons started to disintegrate after many years of continuous use

 

My replacement 520 broke within the first year (and the replacement units warranty is only for 90 days) and I have seen numerous comments on here and elsewhere on how unreliable the 520 is.

 

I wouldn't bet on the Garmin "street cred" lasting long if the new generation of Garmin units are also as unreliable as the current generation. I think Garmin is losing a lot of goodwill at the moment.

 

If my current Garmin also break down in the near future I would rather take the knock and switch to a new brand than have to pay my 3rd replacement fee in 3 years.
