Before "naming and shaming" the seller, months down the line, did you engage him about these issues that have started cropping up with the previously used mountain bike you bought and ridden?

Or are you now suddenly have to replace worn parts and that's burning your a r s e?

You misunderstanding , just been on my mind on and off since I have been caught twice in a row , to make people aware and careful when buying second had , that's all . As for "naming and shaming" , I happened to have another bike at a repair shop , the owner thereof when hearing about the lock out deal told me to go home and check it , that 99% sure it would not be working , which of course was the case . To deceive someone deliberately is the problem I have , turns out if I had been told would have still bought the bike , as the riding I do does not use the lockout anyway.

You said if the owner has invoices.

Someone servicing his own bike won't have that.  But it does not mean the bike is not serviced.

Cool, I hear you... But I said invoices can help... (i.e. if you have invoices its a bonus, then the buyer could consider skipping the LBS check-up.

Without invoices, its really not a big deal for the buyer or seller to take the bike to a LBS.
