Tickr X not ticking

About a year ago I bought a wahoo Tickr X

It ticked all the boxes and with the cadence reading and memory/phoneless workouts it seems like the thing to buy, so ahead I went

Paired with my wahoo Elemnt it worked like a charm. A Year later and it started giving me crap, do a 60km ride, records for 2-5km and then goes dead. Fit the strap and nothing happens, doesn’t wake up, doesn’t connect to Elemnt, phone app etc. etc.

Swopped the battery numerous times, bought a new strap as I thought maybe the old one is worn out or something, still nothing. So, I opened it up, and found this….

The 2 metal springs that connect to the outer clips for the belt is rusted, resulting in a poor connecting.

It says its waterproof…. Maybe not mine.

Any suggestions on what to try out next? Polar? Garmin? viiii?

Feedback will be appreciated

I have my doubts about it being waterproof mine also bombed out. No indication of any rust but it just stopped turning on. I swapped it out after a couple of irate emails.. Still using it, but very infrequently

I'm using the Tickr for pairing with phone app or Apple TV as my Garmin strap is only ANT+. I usually wipe mine down and remove it from belt. It's not a very good design as the unit itself is exposed to alot of perspiration as opposed to Garmin where the belt is between unit and skin.
