Anyone know where I can get one from? As far as I know the middle chainring on an XTR crankset has a 110 BCD.

Have contacted TA SPecialites but had no luck.

No chance. You won't be able to get any manufacturer to cut you one because a 29 wont fit on a 110 bcd.If you had the older style 5 arm 58/94 bcd someone like middleburn will cut you a 29 or 30 middle ring as they have done for me.I know Sauser is riding a 4 arm 28/29 middle ring but that is oneoff cranks with differnt bcd's.Your best bet is to buy a middleburn duo from CRC and run a 2 blade 29/44

I am quite happy with my XTR though and do not feel like forking out a small fortune for an RS8. Does anyone have a schematice for a 29 tooth rings. I then can super impose the design onto 110 bcd spider onto and have an engeneering works cut it out.

Have gone through the research already, like a said,29 ring won't fit on the crank.Just too small.

Thats the xtr 960 series, you might be stuck with rings i'm afraid. If you want to go smaller in the middle maybe do some research into q-rings.I know the agents bring in the rings for those xtr's and while the middle ring won't be smaller it will be on the upstroke of the peddle.Look into it and see if that will work for you.The agent it a hub member and will give you all the info you need.
