WaynejG Posted January 25, 2019 Share I need to replace the inner cable on the rear derailleur on my Anthem. The cable runs internally for awhile. Will this section have a outer or is this going to be a cr@p job?
Butterbean Posted January 25, 2019 Share Easy enough man, just go to LBS, buy a new cable. Remove the old cable by loosening the bolt on the derailer, I normally trim the bend so. It's easy to slide out. You shifter will likely have a little plastic grub screw kinda on the inside of the levers. Undo that, that'll expose the head of the cable. Shift the shifter to the smallest cog, if you've loosened the cable already just pull gently on it with your hand until you've shifted down as much as possible. Then push the cable out of the shifter, and the installation is the same, just in reverse. However, remember to reset your barrel adjuster, tighten to derailer, and then. Tune the cable tension using that.

David Marshall Posted January 26, 2019 Share Replace the outer while you are about it. This causes even more problems than the steel cable with dirt and wear.
