this pic was on the wires the other day. i squirreled it away. it's a really sweet story. thought i'd share it with you lot.

 

NEW DELHI?It was supposed to be a heartwarming tale of a man who brought an orphaned bear cub home from the forests of India to console his 6-year-old daughter, who had just lost her mother.But when wildlife officials saw the story on TV, it turned to tragedy.Ram Singh Munda was jailed for violating wildlife laws, daughter Dulki was sent to a state-run boarding school and the bear was brought to a zoo where it refuses to eat.

another creature tale:

from ap?DARWIN - Drinkers at an Outback watering hole found a crocodile at the door _ and brought it inside for their session.
The saltwater croc in question was just 24 inches (60 centimeters) long and more a curiosity than a threat to drinkers at the Noonamah Tavern on Sunday, though the species can grow to more than 16 feet (5 meters).
