Ok, after all the deliberations, I decided to purchase a 11 speed shifter, use my spare 11 speed cassette on existing LC 11 speed derailleur and bobs your uncle. No more problems and this is now an upgrade from where I was.

 

I have a 10 speed 11-50 cassette for sale if anyone interested. Pm me.
