Fly1981 Posted March 29, 2021 Share Greetings all, My wife has the above mentioned bike, currently it is an 18 speed( 2x9) she is really starting to enjoy her riding and I am either considering upgrading the drive train to a 1x9/10/11/12, or replacing the bike with a complete upgrade, depending on the economics of the whole idea. So, has anyone upgrading a similar bike? My main aim is to try and reduce the weight of the bike, and increase the efficiency of her gears. Is this worth a shot? ChrisF Posted March 29, 2021 Share How many gears does she actually use ? What granny does she NEED on your rides ? What top speeds does she do ... especially if you ride tar sections to the trails ? There are some STRONG ladies out there that enjoy a 1x with a 34 or 36 front ring. And there are many that prefer the 2x setup. IF you do go 1x.
