Tacx NEO Bike Plus Service Alert

I'm starting to get p-ed off with Garmin!!

On 15 July, they sent the following alert:

Garmin has identified an issue with the NEO Bike Plus trainer that can cause overheating or in rare circumstances, fire. Use the following instructions in the service alert below to update your software, and then do not use the external power supply.

Since then I've queried multiple times with Garmin SA. Response has been underwhelming to say the least:

Apologies for for the issue experienced. Currently we are still awaiting further feedback from engineering / testing. As son as they have feedback you will be notified of the way forward.

The unit works, but only under it's own internal power. So when you stop pedalling it switches off plus two of the features (USB charging ports and road feel) don't work. The unit is 9 months old.

Anyone else with the same trainer?
