Due to the withdrawal of the main sponsor of the Makolong MTB Series we sadly have to cancel the Makolong Mountain Bike races in Tshwane which was scheduled for 27 September, 4 October and 22 November 2008 Regards Race Organiser Christo van der Linde

Who was the sponsor that withdrew?

....... and sponsors are seldom able to simply withdraw.

 

Usually there are performance clauses and seeing as though I've never heard of the race's sponsor I suspect not much marketing has been done.
