full carbon 105 vs carbon fork ultegra

I am wanting to buy a road bike for about R 10 000 . I want to use the bike for a few 100km rides as well as for a half iron man (90km).

Is it better to get a full carbon bike with 105 components or get better componnets (ultegra ) with a carbon fork ?

Any info would be most welcome

Are you talking about the RC6000 carbon? And also are you in PE?

Check the weight of the two bikes.

What Carbon Frame you talking about otherwise it may just be better to buy the Ultegra bike and later upgrade to a full Carbon frame.

Also buy what you want.  Which ever bike talks to you is the bike to get, remember you are going to ride it.  Which one is the better "ride",  which one is the correct size.

Take the one you want.

My R 0.50 c worth

Buy the best frame you can, for the diff between 105 and ultegra (which will wear out and easily upgrade) rather get the better frame. Far easit to buy one part of a group at a time to upgrade than buy and sell frames.

The full carbon is the rc 6000(2008) ( R 10 000) with 105 both front and backand the carbon fork with 105 (front )and ultegra(rear) is the felt f85(2008)- R 8450
