Ok, now I'm more confused than I usually am. I am riding this Sunday, I think. And again next Sunday, with Ox, Nance and possibly slow Joe and with a bit of luck Delgado might get the message and join us.

See, Princess Hannah Montana, Your word is our command. You wanted to meet a few of us crazy hubbers, and we organised a few sane ones for you too. (Actually, on second thoughts....) Well, let's just say some insane and some slight more insane hubbers. You got detectives and serfs, Cattle men, a fatty, a kid and an old fart. What more could you command? Oh, and sloe Jow can be rather droll and dry when the occasion demands. Delgado will probably ride one of his retro bikes that is older than me. :D

Andy! Dude, it is going to rain. You!!!! Venture out south and not go to SBR.

This is unheard of...... WTF dude???? Someone take this down for future evidence.

Just wait till the kid get's wind of this. Heh, heh. I see a new bike or 6 in someone's future. :P

Soooo looking forward to this one.  So I think we should all meeet up at Rietvlei and take it from there. That would be Sunday after next. 7 November 2010. Nance, as part of your anniversary dis-ting, get him to treat you to brekkei at Rietvlei. ;) That way, you won't have far to go for the ride and he won't have too long to wait. The kids can run around chasing peacocks. :P

Well I suppose we could alway make it a Suikerbosrand ride. Haven't been there for ages since I found a few nice consistent 10-15% bumps up north. :P

But yes, I have decided to venture south. I am planning to keep it low key so I don't have to pay visa, fica, rica, donation towards the Prince or any other fees that the Kid may dream up! ;)

Can someone give us a bit of a heads up on the long route for Saturday morning? We are Marshalling again and would like to prepare a bit. The short route is very straight forward and standard. Any info on the details will be appreciated.

Thanks guys and galls..

Jasper. As someone who has not yet had the benefit of your marshalling, I am nonetheless pleased that we have your support on the routes that we ride.

There are a couple of long routes, notably, the cheese factory loop which entails going past the Lido, up the hill through Walkerville. But before Walkerville, the chaps usually take the first turn right and then frst left which will take them back to the old JHB Vereeniging Road, Then just before Walkerville, they take another left onto a short dirt section and then right again. Once they get to the T junction, they will turn left again. Cheese factory will be first left after that which will take them back towards Klip river.

If the chaps are doing the circus loop, they will head on straight instead of the last left turn and this will take them past Walker Fruit Farms towards the R59, crossing over and then left past the circus before heading back towards Klip River.

So there is long and longer. For a very long loop, they sometimes head as far as de Deur and then left towards Meyerton before heading back to Henley, Klip River and back to Alberton.

I guess we'll have to get some input from the guys to find out who's doing what.

I'll be onn the chicken run doing the short loop, slowly. Just don't tell the kid. :P

Saturday next week, Sunday Mr. Nancy Drew has the chance to proof her wrong?

Er, ox, my plans were to ride this Sunday and next Sunday. I commute in the week bro' and it's a hard ride come friday afternoon. I need a days recovery to ride with you hooglians. I told Nance to see if Mr Nancy will treat her to brekkie at Rietvlei. Then she can ride, and get brekkie and he won't have to wait all day to have the pleasure of her company. If he can get past Big S and slow Joe as well.

It seems our Nance is a very popular lady. ;)

EDIT:

Andy. I somehow have serious doubts about whether or not I would be able to make a full long lap of SBR without the necessity of Spas09 and his team of edical proffessionals with crash cart, drips and all the other bits they need to revive anyone who would be in a catatonic state after attempting something as tough as a lap of SBR. Also have to consider the time constraints. It would take me three days to do a lap. I have work on Monday. :(

Oh and BTW (Ox). Prozac or prozac, doesn't matter. When you take that stuff, everything is cool. Even my spelling. :P

Prozac or prozac does not matter, or maybe it indicates quantity?

I was actually referring to taking your [p|P]rozac vs taLking TO your [p|P]rozac :P (all in the padded room)

Padded cell. There is a subtle difference. Padded rooms are at home.Padded cells are set aside for me at Groendakkies. (or Sterkfontein, whichever is the closer.)

Taking prozac is what works. I tried talking to them before and that's when they locked me in my padded cell. Apparently there are strict instructions for them to administer the Prozac under supervision so I don't have time to talk to them.

It took them a long time to figure that while I was having deep conversations with my meds, I was not getting any better. That was when they changed the adminstration.

It was terrifying once when I had collected a cupboard full of the things. The noise at night with all those pills talking to me nearly drove me demented. The noises in my head were worrying the other inmates.

It's all good now.

Slave, I'm sure you will manage SBR in 3 hours and in a good condition!

Btw, Slave and agteros, maybe you should tone it down a bit. You scaring Princess Hannah away.

Says he who wants to take the princess up the mountain.... or were you thinking along the lines of 'Jack and Jill went up the hill...'? :P

Andy, are you sure you haven't been at the halucinogens? 3 hours around SBR????? I can recommend a good shrink for you. :D

Nahh, Ox and I are not likely to scare anyone away. Kid and Trubes got that job done when they started with the picture trading dis-ting.

The princess hasn't been anywhwere near this thread the whole day. :o

Is this perhaps the reason you planned to head south and ride with us???? You NEVER come out this way for a ride mate. Methinks you may have some ulterior motives. ;)

BTW. The steps are very gentle. Nothing like your 10 to 15 gradients. The short loop is nice and flat and sometimes fast.

Where did I mention anything about taking the Princess up any mountain? Slave and I were simply discussing SBR.

Andy, Andy, Andy. Ever the legal eagle. Subtle play on words that can be backtracked at a moments notice. (But I never said THAT your honour. (read as "I defintely implied it") The defence / prosecution has misinterpreted / misunderstood me.)

Have you ever noticed that most politicians have a law degree?

Those who don't make it as lawyers get to be politicians.

I think Andy, the idea is to give princess a gentle introduction to us hubbers. Not overwhelm the poor dear. Taking her on a hub ride in SBR would be overwhelming for me. I think the objective here is to have a slow gentle ride, assess her riding abiliites and then perhaps invite her on more strenuous rides later.

Frikking law peeps. You know? ;)

ox, does the rest of that one go: "Jill came down with half a crown and Jack got what he was after."

Yep, I reckon they did get that pail of water ...

I'm due for (at least) one road bike ride next weekend. Should be able to fit it a 40km stepped ride into it!
