  1. Also try the Sabie routes, starting and ending at Merry Pebbles.
  2. Hi there guys, Please be aware, the veld between Atlas Road And Great North Road close to Bonaero Park is a danger area. Two people have been dragged into the bushes and stabbed several times over this past weekend for their belongings. I know there is cyclists that frequent this area a bit. Both patients transported to hospital for further care and is doing fine. Please be aware.
  3. Being from Nylstroom from School days, I remember this race being a big event, with a crit around the old NTK buildings. Looking on in amazement how the big guns did it. I even participated as a school laaitie in the short distance on my bmx. My comments on this event is that is was poorly advertised, organisation was shocking. Paid R150 for 47km race, no bike marshals, traffic on the Warmbaths to Nylstroom road was terrifying, no shoulder on the road to cycle on. There was supposed to be a neutral zone from the start to out of town due to potholes and bad road surface, this was not enforced or maintained. The traffic official leading the race was not briefed about this. Then the stuff up with the results and prize giving at the end. Under 18 kids were receiving booze as prizes...Some of the results was not even available, so much for buying another timing chip... Pity, but I don't think I will do this race again.
  4. No Idea of the route, information is scarce.
  5. Unfortunately very LOW PROFILE.. I did find it on Jumpertrax and did enter, but the info is not forthcoming on Collection of Numbers etc. Need to also buy a Jumpertrax timing chip as Championchip is not doing the timing. Seems like there is also a limited number of entrants.
  6. Is this event taking place? How do one enter?
  7. This group stillriding on Saturday mornings, from what time?
  8. Rode Huddle Park yesterday afternoon, what a messy, stinky sewer of a ride.. The wet, muddy areas are actually free flowing raw sewerage which you have to cross 5-9 times on the ride. Do not mind getting muddy and wet, but please not raw sewage. At places, there is no markers, so you do not get to know which way to go. Some markers swung around showing the opposite way one came from.?? The bike washbay is nice, pity about the hose that is leaking and spraying water all over the place except where you direct it.Hose has been fixed with a plastic bag. Come on guys, fix this place up a bit, so much potential.
  9. Howzit. Was told that one can still enter tommorow morning at the venue. Does anyone know what time it starts? Want to enter the 30km.
  10. Riding the MTB on Saturday and then the Short Distance on Sunday. Lovely being back in the cycling, loving it.
  11. The Helivac Marshals opted to withdraw on Saturday morning due to safety concerns. Hope we are forgiven.. Will you guys please let us know when the time change from 07:00 to 07:30???
  12. The Marshals will be in full force Saturday morning in the Alberton Area. Give us a wave when u see us...

  14. Condolences to the friends and family of this Cyclist. Yes, the Helivac Marshals, Sign-up provide Marshalling Services on these routes over weekends. But, we need support from the Cycling Community. The Motorcycle Marshals is everyday people with a passion for Cycling Safety. That is why our motto at Helivac Marshals is: Cycling Safety is our Concern. The Motorcycle Marshals give up their free time over weekends to promote safety amongst Cyclists and Motorists on these routes. The connectivity with Helivac is that JP sponsor some funds to cover fuel, hi-viz jackets and a Paramedic. We want to expand our services even more, start covering Sundays as well, but we cannot expect guys to do this totally voluntary due to costs etc. We want to help, we want to be there to keep the groups safe, guys, we need your help.
