I'm cycling to Brits where the family will get together for the day. It is either drive / run / walk / hike / cycle to get there. I chose my mode of transport thumbup1.gif

The 25th is just an arb date. Doing races on Sunday? Not picking a fight, just a consistency check.

The date is actually not that arb - old pagan festival on which our ancestors decided to celebrate a more Christian event, which non-believers(an others) have turned into an orgy of money-making during which the true meaning of the day got lost.

not concerned about the date at all, its the celebration I'm interested in, could be any date. That is just the one used, so I fall in with that. I have the same problem with riding or racing on sundays yes, but its the way it is. Not trying to be a hypocrite at all. This is one day I do refuse to ride, no matter when we would celebrate it. Each one is entitled to his/her own opinion

Kewl, so you guys are riding on 25 / 26 Dec? I'm taking a one way via bicycle to Brits on 25. thumbup1.gif

Oh. kewel. A sleepover ride. Wern't you one of the big antagonists against dating as it interferes with training for the DC?

Andy, dude, I can go without a smoke while I am riding. If it get's to that somewhere along the line, I might just have a smokebreak on the bike. Long time till DC. Who knows, I might just find the mindset and motivation. Although the sign-here I am about to go and interview also smokes.

The date I remember was the 27th but Trubie advised that I should change that date because I'll be tired from the previous day's riding.

Now I read that he wants to do 3:30 +

So we'll make it on the 28th, you can join us at 5am for the south loop & then after that we'll go up Comaro & Klipriver.

Like that you'll also have a day to recover from your Vitamin S.

Schweeet. Planning on doing 140 tomorrow. Ride to SBR. one long lap and some time taken to confront certain issues in life, make a few decisions, some peace tranquility and solitude. No distractions. The ride home again. So if you don't hear from me by Thursday morning, I may not have made it. The ride to SBR will be fairly easy I know, and i am not going for any record breaking circuits of SBR. Nice slow ride, stop and smell the zebras, look at some of our feathered friends, contemplate, reflect and introspect. The ride home may be very hard. The steps, and Camaro or Butchers. After four serious climbs in SBR. EISH.

Methinks it may hurt. Just a leeeedle. :o

Have fun peeps. I am as in outa here. Was going to say gotta run but that will just fule false hopes with the oxen and besides, I'm on the bike anyway. Going via the long route home. Some long climbs up the parktown ridge. Jan Smuts up to Hyde Park, then Up to Parktown and then up University hill.

You inferred incorrectly sir. Sleeping over has never been mentioned. I am indeed oming back that same afternoon afternoon. Next morning at 6 am I'm running again from the running club house.

Do you have a Garmin that we can see proof of this ride? :D

Somehow I suspect Kid will have an issue with your maths in that post.

Enjoy it!

Slave, you certainly picked the wrong day to venture to SBR. With the little breeze this morning, I certainly hope you remembered to pack your kite :)

Let's see if I can clear the confusion.

Its road yes.

We will meet at Xumbugs (cnr Swartkoppies and Klipriver), from there its about 10 k's to the starting point.

We do the TT on the Alewynspoort rd, starting about 1km from Lido hotel, ride in a eastern direction. The road is mostly flat , no stops, robots etc. From where we start to the stop street just before the R 59 is about 15k's. So if you manage to go longer than that in 20 mins, you can turn left and left again just after crossing over the R 59. Its a power test TT, hence only 20 mins.

After the TT we turn back and try join up with the Xumbug group that leaves at 7:00 for a ride of 50+ k's

Thanks for that lol, I thought for sec u guys were doing 14km's and then going home, so will see how the night goes, but might join you guys, by the way starting new year we do a 40km+ TT around the Lido, loop up the Steps and back, there are some top guys in there and it goes about 54minutes its a killer but brilliant training will keep u posted when it starts.
