DangerDave Posted December 8, 2008 Share Hey all, I have just got a SRM, it a great unit BUT....... how do I know if the battery in the crank disc has gone flat or is on its way to going flat, I am having huge problems with picking up a power reading. the pick up is places correctly and does not move during a ride, I will sometimes get it picking up during an off set test, but then during the ride there is nothing. I know the unit is due for a service but would like to know if it is the battery first any help please..... thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BikeMax Posted December 8, 2008 Share I had a similar problem with mine - basically very erratic powerreading during a ride and then eventually is stopped picking up (eventhough sometimes it would work while dling offset) If it is not cable (I tried a new wiring kit first) then it is almost certainly battery, especially if it is due a change. I tried a different cable kit with no luck and then I sent both the cranks and the unit away for battery replacement.
