Crossmark tire tread

I had the same issue and dirtbreath is on the button it is a seating issue. No need to remove, deflate, lubricate, inflate

bobs-your-auntie it should be sorted...it was with mine :)

I managed to fix it, with all help from here.

I deflated the tire and had a look at the sludge, I found a "snot" ball the size of a ping-pong ball inside...so I took the tire off and had a proper look.

The people who did my conversion to Tubeless did not put the inner liner on correctly and it was sitting against the rim bead in some places causing the wobble. With that straight I did the lubricate, inflate, deflate, inflate, deflate, sludgeback in, inflate and presto.....

Thanks again to all.

Thanks for the feedback. Many people forget to do so.

You found and pointed out something that should be obvious but that never seems to be top-of-mind - those pesky liners.

JB, the ghetto conversion wont have that problem then? Assuming since the cut open tube is even all around the rim, the 'seating' area is the same..

Of course you understand what I am on about...Big%20smile

It depends how much of a lip you left behind in the finishing touches. I'm a bit silly in that way in that I don't like seeing the lip so I shaved it right off. Haven't taken that tyre off yet but I expect it to be a difficult job to replace it properly.

Thanks for that, although I was talking about the original problem of the tire not seating properly because of the rim strip....

Your answer here raises another thing, Im pedantic like that as well and have been mulling over the same thing. Although 20 inch Presta tubes are easy to get, removable core ones are not... So cutting the lip very close poses a problem for topping up the slime/goo/etc... New tube everytime.... Not that much of issue I suppose..
