Get a decent clamp and make sure you've got the right size post. Forget about all this silly advise. You should never use a shim if you've got the right clamp and post.

It works...and you know it... Atleast I dont use hairspray and coke cans to tighten my seatpost..

.......... psssst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! confession time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ........ I have a Sparletta shim in the MTB Yandem seatpost........ the seatpost is the correct dia for the seat tube, the clamp is correct, but it kept on sliding down.

The cans do work great for fixing streched headtubes and defective seattubes. But its just not right...
