chuck Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 It is easy enough to adjust the RD but for some reason I have a situation where on the middle 2 gears (8 speed) it seems impossible to get it to shift properly. Either it won't shift down properly or it will keep on jumping up under strain. Even the smallest tweak results in either of these two behaviors. What should I be looking at? Chain, Casette etc. is still in good nick.
Sacrosanct Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 You'd have to have 8 speed shifters for everything to work but i'm sure u know that. When last have u replaced your cables? Make sure the cable guides are all in properly as well else it will be out. Hope this helps...
chuck Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 Yip have 8 speed shifters. If cables are the problem will you not experience the problem across the whole range of gears? Also, should it not then be possible to adjust to compensate for the stretch?
Daxiet Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I know you say the chain and cassette are in good condition, however how old are these items and are you sure there are no bent teeth on the cassette? Furthermore are you using an 8 speed specific chain?
